Sephora News: How Buhari’s reign has affected entertainment — Paul Play Dairo

Erstwhile musician, Paul Play Dairo has taken a bold swipe at President Buhari’s government, condemning it for misleading innocent Nigerians to believe in his visions which he claimed will improve the living conditions of the people and make their lives better.

In an exclusive chat with Showtime, the RnB maestro, suggested that Nigerians were hopeful that with Buhari steering the political ship of the nation, the socio-economic condition of its citizens would be more like a bed of roses compared to past dispensations who failed in their empty promises.

“2017 has been tough because of the economic situation in the country, so many people who believed in the new dispensation actually thought things were going to get better, unfortunately things went the other side.

However, he later expressed optimism that the economic tide would be upturned for the better in 2018.

“It’s been a tough year for everyone but now that it’s the end of the year, things are beginning to pick up; businesses are beginning to flourish all over again, so we’re hoping for the best in 2018.

He added that even the entertainment industry has had a fair share of the economic downturn because business has been very poor.

“In the entertainment business it’s been the same because without clients there’s no way business can improve, there’s no way you can make money from the business; it’s been a tough year for everyone.”

Speaking further, Paul Play who recently returned to the music scene after about seven years of absence as a result of his dwindling health condition bragged that he is not under pressure to reclaim his place because he is not in competition with anyone.

“I don’t believe anything is impossible; you just have to be you, you don’t have to be someone else, nobody can be Paul Play I can only be myself. If I want to come back and do what I want to do with my music; I don’t think there should be any reason to fear .”
