United News Erling Haaland to Man Utd: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tight-lipped on January transfer interest in RB Salzburg star

Ole Gunnar Solskjær insists it's “not right” to discuss Erling Haaland after being quizzed about Manchester United’s interest in the Norwegian starlet.

United have sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old striker, who is the leading scorer in this season’s Champions League with six goals for RB Salzburg.
Solskjær is determined to sign a forward in January after failing to replace the departed Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez in the summer, with Mario Mandzukic among his targets.
But Haaland better fits United’s desire to recruit the best emerging talent around the world.
After admitting his wish to sign a Harry Kane-type goal-scorer, Solskjær was questioned about a potential move for his countryman Haaland - but insisted he didn’t want to fuel speculation regarding the highly-rated teenager.
He said: “I don't think it's the time now for me to talk about other team's strikers. I spoke about Harry Kane yesterday and Erling today - I don't think it's right for me.”

Jadon Sancho remains a dream target for Solskjær next summer after being promised as many as five new signings over the next two windows.
But he is desperate to bring in a clinical finisher in January.
Martial scored in his first start since August in United’s 1-0 win against Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League on Thursday. The France international has been out with a thigh injury. Until then he hopes Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford can thrive as a two-man strike pair after altering his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation in recent weeks.
Solskjær said: “We've not created as many (chances) as we like, we've not scored as many as we'd like.
“Anthony's back. He got a goal and I'm sure you'll see us improve as a team with Anthony because he does give us something different.
“I thought Marcus and Dan James caused Liverpool problems (as a two), so it depends on who's fit.
“Mason (Greenwood) could've played today as well. We're looking more dangerous upfront with two at the moment.”

A front two could also see Daniel James deployed as a No10. Ahead of Sunday’s trip to Norwich, Solskjær added: “Dan can play in many positions, as can so many others.
“Andreas (Pereira) can play there, Juan (Mata) can play there, Jesse (Lingard) can play there. So we've got loads of players who can play behind two forwards.
“It's just on who's fit, who's in form and what do we decide is the best against Norwich.”
