The speculation of a possible World War III increases and US president, Donald J Trump keeps boasting of the military might of the United States of America and how he won't he hesitate to unleash them on Iran.

The US is considered the world's most elite fighting force with over 3 million active service personnel, 4800 defence sites spanning around the 7 continents of the world, a yearly military budget of $700 billion, the US military is believed to be always ready for war whenever it breaks out.

Here is a list of the known sophisticated weapons in the arsenal of the US Military;

B-52 Bombers

B-52 bombers are the real deal when it comes to air activities of every military, the US army has 75 of these magnificent planes in its fleet. This heavy-duty planes can carry a mixed load of bombs, missiles and mines at a combined weight of 35 tons (31751.5 kg). B-52 bombers were initially launched in 1952 but over the years it has been modified and upgraded to meet up with the growing technological standards and also carry air-launched cruise missiles.

Each B-52 bomber can carry 20 cruise missiles and the US military has 75 bombers which mean 1500 cruise missiles. Once launched, each cruise missile has turbo-fan engines and internal guidance system that enables them to independently fly to and destroy their targets with the warhead of each missile weighing up to  3,000 pounds (1,360 kilograms).

B-2 stealth Bombers
Taking your enemies by surprise is essential to winning every war, the B-2 stealth bombers can fly into any airspace without being detected by radars. This heavy bomber has a bat-winged design that can transport both nuclear and standard weapons. Currently, the US military has 20 active B-2 stealth bombers operating from Whiteman Airbase in Missouri. Although they can stage out of this base to other bases, like some a stationed in the Pacific island of Guam, others are in the airbase of Diego Garcia.

When general conflicts arrises, the B-2 is built with 4 efficient engines that has the strength to carry two GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators (this is the biggest non-nuclear bomb owned by the US military). The GBU-57 bombs weigh over 30,000 pounds (13607.771 kg), 30-foot-long (9-meters), they are built to strike deep into the ground, destroying command complexes and missiles that other non-nuclear cant reach.

The B-2 can have been battle-tested in  Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria during conflicts in those regions.

F-22 Stealth Raptor Fighters
180 F-22 stealth fighters are currently active in the US military fleet, these planes are considered as the force's most capable fighter jets. The F-22 flies on stealth mode and can take out any fighter aircraft placed against it. The F-22 can carry two joint direct attack munitions and radar-guided air-ground missiles.

During conflicts involving the US airforces, F-22s are usually used because of their ability to fly undetected by enemy radar, they can destroy enemy air defence sites, lead the attack to destroy enemy defences for other planes and missiles to do a follow-up attack.

B-1 Bombers
Designed with 4 engines, these bombers are over 60 actively waiting in the US military fleet. Of all the aircraft in the US Air Force, the B-1 bombers carry the largest payload of more than 75,000 pounds (34,019 kilograms) including gravity bombs, cruise missiles, and naval mines.

During previous conflicts, the B-1 bombers have been extensively used to drop Joint Direct Attack Munitions (free falling bombs with guidance systems attached to their back end) and can get within 5 meters of the target

Guided-Missile And Attack Submarines
Enough of the sky now let us look at the might of the US military from the waters which is also a good strategic position to launch aerial attacks from a safe distance.

The US Navy is always ready to support with its dozens of submarines that can stay submerged in water and launch hundreds of jet-powered, long-range, all-weather, subsonic Tomahawk cruise missiles at both land and sea targets. The most efficient of these submarines are 4 Ohio-class guided-missile submarines that can carry up to 154 Tomahawks.

Each Tomahawk cruise missile is armed with a 1,000-pound warhead, can independently fly and hit targets at over 1,000 miles from its launch site. One special feature of this missile is the ability of its guidance system to simultaneously carry intel on over 15 targets, giving it the ability to change its destination while flying mid-air.

Destroyers And Cruisers
The US Navy has a fleet of guided-missile destroyers and cruisers that can work independently or in conjunction with aircraft carriers to carry out strike groups.

The Arleigh Burke-class destroyers have more than 70 actively in service and they are very important to the Navy's fleet. Each Arleigh Burke-class destroyer can carry 56 Tomahawk cruise missiles to attack both land and sea targets.

The Ticonderoga-class cruisers also carry cruise missiles, though in smaller numbers than the destroyers. Both ships provide the Navy with its most advanced missile defence system, AEGIS. The system, which communicates targeting info among various platforms, can target low-level and ballistic missiles threatening ships, or even targets on land.

  1. Damn...with all this stuffs in their possession, the US can wipe the universe including them.

  2. The US military force is invicible and should not be dared by other nation's military forces. The result will not be favourable. The weapon production level and technology of the US has become more sophisticated by the day compared to the strikes launched during the first and second world wars which even gave victory to the US making it to become the number one nation in the whole world up till today.I humbly advise Iran to take caution in arriving at the decision to challenge the US militarily.
