Ekiti State Police Warns Residents Of High Increase Of Criminals

The Nigerian Police Force of Ekiti State has sent alerts of the inflow of criminals into the state and urged people to report any suspicious acts promptly.

The Command found out that the suspects have flooded the state with motorcycles, pretending to be business motorcyclists, commonly known as okada riders.

The Police PPRO, ASP Sunday Abutu, during a press release that has been made public for Ado Ekiti newspapers said that criminal acts are using: theft, armed robbery and abductions in the state.

Considering the developments, Amba Asuquo, State Police Commissioner, directed that the relevant authority must register all motorcycles throughout the State properly and obtain relevant licensed documents.

Asuquo also said that from now on the police will arrest, enforce and convict any (motorcyclist) who has been found guilty of a crime.

The command confirmed its strong commitment to support its campaign against criminal offence and crime in the state, advised property owners, carers and good citizens to know the identities of present and future tenants and their neighbours.

The Order, which demanded the public's assistance and cooperation, urges all the citizens to cooperate and report promptly to the nearest police station or when seeing any person or group of people believed to be criminals in their vicinity, call the state's police GSM Control Room number 08062335577.
