BREAKING: Aston Villa still want £80million for Manchester United transfer target Jack Grealish

Manchester United will still have to pay £80million for summer target Jack Grealish, even if Aston Villa are relegated from the Premier League this season, according to reports.

Grealish adapted quickly to the pace of the Premier League

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly made the 24-year-old one of his top priority signings for the next transfer window as he looks to add a goalscoring midfielder to his squad.

Grealish has been a talismanic figure during his side’s fight for survival this season, registering seven goals and six assists.

And according to the Mirror, even if the Midlands club drop down to the Championship at the end of this campaign, they won’t budge on their high valuation of the midfielder.

Dean Smith’s side were sat in 19th place in the league table before the season was postponed over the coronavirus crisis.

Villa will attempt to keep hold of Grealish if they can beat the drop, but there is an acceptance that the player will want to move on if they are relegated.

However, given the club’s wealthy owners Nassef Sawaris and Wes Edens, Villa won’t let Grealish leave for a cut-price fee, regardless of whether they remain in the top flight or not.

With the Premier League being given the green light by the Government to return next month, it looks more likely the remaining 92 fixtures of the campaign will be played out.

United chief Ed Woodward has warned that mega-money moves will be affected by the financial strain caused by the coronavirus crisis.

The Red Devils are still reportedly keen on recruiting Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jadon Sancho, but the Bundesliga side is demanding upwards of £120million for his services.
