Mr. Edward Kisuze a former registrar in the college of computing and information science has been relieved of his duties at Makerere University by the university’s appointments board for sexually abusing one Rachel Njoroge in his office.
According to the university Vice-Chancellor Professor Barnabas Nawangwe, after sitting on Wednesday, the board members decided to sack Edward Kisuze basing on the Court’s decision and University policy of zero tolerance to s 3xual assault.
Nawangwe said; “Within the university structures, his s3xual harassment case was still being processed. But, he had been dragged to court, which gave a ruling, and once the court rules against any member of staff on a criminal offence, he has to be dismissed. That is the regulation. But still, he had to go either way”.
In 2018, a picture made rounds on social media where Edward Kisuze was seen licking Rachel’s private parts.
The picture was released by Rachel who narrated that the registrar forced himself on her on April 13, 2018, when she had gone to pick her transcript and recommendation at the university.
Mr. Kisuze was reported, arrested, and charged with attempted rape and indecent assault.
