Liverpool are set to finalise the deal to sign RBLeipzig defender Ibrahima Konaté.
The Reds has suffered a dip form since the injury to key defender Virgil Van Dijk earlier in the second and Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp has made signing a top defender a priority this summer.
The German tactician has made the French U21 international defender a top target and has instructed the club’s hierarchy to get the deal done.
RB Leipzig are said to be reluctant to let go of the defender, but have there hands tied behind due to the €40m release clause in Konaté’s contract which Liverpool are ready to pay.
Talks are already ongoing between the player’s representative and that of Liverpool over a 5yrs contract and the deal could be rounded up as soon as possible.
