Former Governor of Imo State Rochas Okorocha has been ordered by Imo State High Court to forfeit his properties to the State Government.
It would be recalled that the current Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma ordered the closure of the properties which includes Hotels, houses and School belonging to Rochas Okorocha, stating that the Ex Imo State Governor acquired the properties with state funds.
Rochas however took the Imo State Government to court citing illegal closure and ceasing of his properties after Months of dragging between the both parties.
Yesterday, Fred Njemanze of Imo State High Court ordered a permanent forfeiture of all the Properties belonging to Ex Governor Rochas, his family and associates to the Imo State Government.
The properties includes (Hotels, School and houses) not less than 47. This was contained in Pages226 to 272 of the state Govt White Paper on recovery of lands and properties allegedly belonging to the state.
However Okorocha’s counsel, Maduagwu SAN, said the order was an abuse of court procedure, the final forfeiture of the properties can never stand & they will appeal it.
