Governor Ganduje barred The leader of Qaddiryya Islamic sect from preaching in the State
The Kano state governor, Umar Abdulahi Ganduje has barred Islamic cleric, the leader of Qaddiryya sects from preaching in Kano State. According to the Islamic preacher, it is political vendetta. The Kano state governor, Umar Abdulahi Ganduje has recently barred the supreme leader of Qaddiryya, an Islamic sect, Sheikh Abduljabar Nasir from preaching in the state.
The Islamic preacher was accused of inciting violence in the state with his preachings.
The Governor also went further to restrict him from radio broadcasts, Televisions or any social media within Kano state.
According to the Muhammad Garba, the Kano state commissioner for information, he said the decision was part of the State Executive Council’s resolutions at its weekly meeting held at the Africa House, Government House while addressing the journalists.
Muhammad Garba added the security agencies have been ordered to ensure the law is properly enforced, anyone who violates the government order should be punished.
According to the Islamic cleric, while addressing yesterday, he revealed that he is paying the price for not supporting Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, during the 2019 governorship election. he referred the sanction as political and partisan.
He also added, how Ganduje has been using any slight opportunity to prosecute him, and luckily he was this time around.
In his statement:
The reasons are very clear. The person in question who took the decision to barn me had said it several times that he never forgives. I battled with him during the 2019 governorship election and he promised to revenge. he added, “only that he is taking the wrong decision at a wrong time.
“So, this ban is purely political; it has nothing to do with religion or any form of problems. I have informed my followers to prepare their votes ahead of the next election and do the needful. I am fighting scholars, not government; but at the end, the government took over the fight,” he said.
The Islamic cleric furthermore cautions his followers to be calm and law-abiding while waiting for normalcy.
