Arsenal Striker Alexander Lacazette has stated that the team wanted to win the North London derby for the club’s supporters.
Lacazette scored the decisive goal from the spot as Arsenal secured a 2 – 1 over their North London rivals Tottenham yesterday.
The 29-year-old French admitted that the team’s game management was poor in the final minutes of the encounter, but however stated that they were eager to get all the three points for the club supporters. He has this to say,
“They were really stressful, He said, This is our problem when we are winning, we have some problems managing the game at the end.
‘Even 11 against 10, this is where we have to improve a lot. In the end we won and we need to appreciate the three points and think about Thursday.
“We wanted to win this game for us, for the team and as well for the fans. I think they’re happy, we missed them today in the stadium but it was really important for us to win the derby. For us it’s really good for the rest of the season.”
Arsenal will be back in action on Thursday night for their Uefa Europa league round 16 second leg clash with Olympiacos. The Gunners has a 3 – 1 advantage over Olympiacos having won away to the Greek side last week.
